About TalkingTips

I'm Zhou Mo — 40, mother of two, and a RedNotes creator based in China.

I started TalkingTips because I fell in love with press-on nails. After my second child, salon visits became a fantasy. But most of what I found online was the same story: long nails that got in the way of typing, housework, and playing with my kids. Colors that were loud and flashy — fine for a party, wrong for a Tuesday meeting or the school run. Nothing matched the understated, confident style that women like me actually wear.

I wanted something else: short but elongating, with that quiet-luxury feel. Nails that work for the school run and the boardroom, the dinner date and the day you're the one on stage. I couldn't find them — so I made them.

It turned out my entire life had been preparing me for this. Art school taught me color and composition. A postgraduate diploma in supply chain management from Dublin Institute of Technology taught me how to build a product from scratch. Years in branding and cultural IP taught me how to tell a story worth wearing. Even the sleepless years of motherhood taught me what women actually need: not more things to feel guilty about, but small rituals that pull you back to yourself.

Every scene of it.
